Life on the Home Front

Many people think of the WW2 as the men going off to war and the women waiting patiently for them to come home. However, it was the women of Britain who not only kept the homes fires burning, but kept the country going throughout the war.

Home Front Defenders is a group of living historians who have an avid interest in WW2 Home Front and look to accurately portray the roles of the Home Front Defenders who played an active role in helping our country against invasion.

The group interacts with visitors at 1940s events across the country at many heritage venues as well as giving educational talks to schools, care homes and other social organisations.
